Lantern provides funeral and cremation information and allows visitors to request help finding local provider options. This policy explains the information the website may collect and how it may be used.
Information you provide
If you submit a request, Lantern may collect information such as your name, phone number, relationship to the person needing services, information about the person who died or may need services, their current type of location, and information you choose to provide about the requested service.
How information may be used
Information may be used to respond to your request, identify relevant funeral or cremation provider options, operate and improve the website, prevent abuse, and understand how visitors use Lantern.
Provider contact
If you ask for help finding a provider, information from your request may be shared with a funeral home, cremation provider, or other service provider that may be able to respond to your request. Do not submit a request if you do not want the information needed to respond to it shared for that purpose.
Not medical or emergency services
Lantern is not an emergency service. Do not use this website as a substitute for emergency, medical, law-enforcement, hospice, or other time-sensitive professional assistance.
Data retention and security
Lantern may retain submitted information as reasonably necessary to operate the service, respond to requests, maintain records, prevent abuse, and comply with applicable obligations. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
